This original colored pencil drawing of the Nicaraguan boy was completed after my trip to Nicaragua back in 2012. I went on a mission trip with the Seeds of Learning, non-profit organization headquartered in California. It depicts a native boy who captured my heart with his thoughtful look in his eyes. His entire appearance suggested he had already seen so much in his life… Yet he was friendly and playful. The boy began posing for me without saying a word. It was a surreal moment that I recorded in my art, heart and memory.
